Getting worried! Can YOU help??
Hey everyone, I wonder if you can help me out here.
I am in my final year of my biology year and have applied to soton, bham and st georges for GEP and soton for the standard 5 year job. The thing is I havent heard from any of them and am pretty worried about my chances. If you could let me know what you guys think, especially those who have already been through this process, I'd be really grateful!
Here goes- for a few personal reasons that i am not going to discuss here, my a-levels were far from great. I did chem, bio, hist and As sociol. I am predicted a first class honours degree for biology though. Virtually all my course units are biomedical in nature. I have done loads of work experience including voluntary work at an AIDS programme in s. africa (few weeks, but ongoing), as a samaritan (about 1 year), at an epilepsy centre (for 5 years, ongoing) and in an old peoples home (summer hols) all in the last 2 years and have been involved with a hospice (summer hols) about 5 years ago. I have travelled quite a bit and am totally committed to medicine.
My GAMSAT was a total train wreck so I can safely say that georges is out. i am worried that my alevels will let me down and the competition is just too much. I dont know anyone who has been accepted or rejected by any of the unis i have applied for.
All comments welcome and appreciated.
