St. Christopher College? Good or bad ?

Hi guys, I am a new member here. My question is that St. Christopher College, an international med school, which has the main Campus in senagal, Africa. They do have a campus in Luten, uk. I am a US student who doesnt have a good chances in getting in med school. But St. Christopher college claims that I can start a 4-year MD program. It will be one year and four months in uk, and then I will come back here in usa. I will take the USMLE and after passing the test I will get the clinical rotations here in usa. Once I have finished 4-year program. I will have to apply for residency here in usa. As I am US resident i shoudnt have much problem getting the residency. But As i searched it online....i read a BBC news report that this school is not NHS listed..PLEASE READ ME AND HELP ME OUT...WHETHER THE SCHOOL IS GOOD OR BAD. AGAIN I WANT TO PRACTICE MEDICINE IN USA.

Yeah, this place appears to be seriously dodgy. I wouldn't risk my money on somewhere like this with such problems. I'm also not sure that they are allowed to send their students to learn in UK NHS hospitals any more (as they were doing before the GMC started investigating them) because NHS hospitals have been advised by the GMC not to. There are real questionmarks over this place.

Have you considered big Caribbean schools? They are probably a better bet for you if your GPA isn't high enough to get you in to a US school.

Very dodgy, St George's in Grenada is better. Its in the Caribbean as well, which is a tad nicer than Luton.

Yeah, what they said. From what I'm aware of Private Med School degrees really aren't worth the paper they're writen on if you were planning on practicing in the UK as they'd be considered foreign degrees and you'd have to sit PLAB, as well as the scandal with the GMC at the mo. But as you're planning on practicing in the US then this PLAB aspect doesn't affect you. Personally I'd rather study somewhere in the Carribean rather than Luton and those colleges seem slightly more legit and less dodgy. What with all the GMC investigations and everything your best bet is probs somewhere outside the UK; save England for holidays, eh?
