I'm so happy for you, sa119, that you didn't have to resort to the PhD route! And woooow 12 applications - you must have some magical power/persistance. It would be my 3rd time applying this Oct and I am already thinking of forgetting about it and convinving myself that I'll never get in! But, I'm going to keep on trying and keep my spirits high! Well done and I hope you enjoy your time at Swansea

It's taken me 12 years but not 12 application cycles! I've done two undergraduate degrees in that time and I've almost finished my Masters (but not started writing up my thesis - eek!). I think I've applied at least six times, I lost count after the third application cycle...

Congratulations sa119! I'm really happy for you!
You really deserve it after all your perserverance, and especially after the long drawn out painful process that Swansea put us through
So pleased you finally got your place, well done! xx

Thank you so much, Joanna2012
If you've not heard anything, please don't stop trying. If you do decide to re-apply next year, don't hesitate to contact me in case I can help in any way. Xx

To anyone who's already accepted their place at Swansea - when does the course actually start? I noticed on the offer letter it says 03/09 but from what I can remember of my short conversation with Sarah Rees, the course starts a week earlier?

Hi, and congratulations.
The first day we need to be at the university is friday 31st August. This is an induction day and they mentioned at the meet and greet about a month ago that if you absolutley can't make it, then it will be repeated in the week commencing 3rd Sept.
The 3rd Sept is again for induction, and lectures proper start on 4th Sept.
There is no Freshers' Week, though the Med Soc people assure us that they'll arrange plenty of social activities that week for new students anyway. If, like me, you're an old fuddy-duddy then that last part will probably strike fear in your heart.
There is also a helpful website that Swasnea will send you a link to with lots of preliminary information.
Will you be driving in from Cardiff or relocating?

Thanks for that, Mr.J
You don't happen to have a link to that website, do you? Jane is away until next week, not sure I can wait that long! I'm going to relocate, I did the whole commuting thing for my undergraduate degree at Swansea a few years ago.
