Swansea 2012 GEP applicants

Had an offer late afternoon Thursday when I had almost given up hope. Was beginning to plot a path through to an application next year resitting the ghastly GAMSAT again. So relieved to get an offer first time application and Swansea was the only place I applied so all my eggs were in one basket. Good luck to all those still waiting at least I am proof that offers are still going out

I feel like my life is on hold at the moment

Swansea have an Easter break now for 3 weeks. I am really hoping this is just students and not all the admin staff too!

I may be wrong but I wouldn't have thought admin staff get that much time off, too.

I'm still leaning towards Swansea putting things on hold until Nottingham send out their offers. It's the only way people will get moved up the list, isn't it?

I'm at Bham uni which is officially shut good friday, Monday 9th, Tues 10th, Wed 11th so I assume Swansea will be the same/similar. Teaching staff book off holiday rather than getting the same block holidays as students so I assume admin staff are the same... so in theory we could potentially hear mon-thurs next week.

I find it really surreal reading back previous Swansea threads where there is a clear day that offers come out and NMM is riddled with "offer" posts... that doesn't seem to have happened this year. So either there hasn't been a true offers day yet or less people are using this thread compared to previous years? So frustrated and confused.

I looked on the Swansea website and it was saying offers would be released by March 2012, this has now been updated to March 2013 ready for next year. Does this suggest all the offers have been sent out? In which case those of us who havent heard are on the waiting list?

Just wondering, is it normal for places to take copies of all your documents for a CRB prior to giving out offers? They wouldnt be waiting for CRB checks to come back before making decisions would they?

No, you need to fill in a form too and sign it yourself for a CRB check. I don't know why Swansea wanted so many documents at the interview stage.

No that can't be it, as we havent gave them the crb form so they can't send crb applications off yet. I think the same as sa111 that they are waiting for nots as then some people will withdraw there swansea application

Thanks everyone - still sinking in that I'm going! I really hope you guys hear soon, it does seem a little inhumane the agony they put us through. If there are waiting for Notts then Notts are letting people know by April 16th, so hopefully a few more offers will become available then. Fingers crossed for you all! xx
