    Question Rankings

Ok so i've posted this in another forum and got no responses, so i thought i'd give it another go.

Swansea is my first choice, loved it at open day and interview, think the set up is class and it's a really modern course which i like...just wanted to see how people thought it measured up to the other courses out there.

it's not in any of the league tables (which i know are totally useless n e way) but i was just wondering

plus, this gives me somethin else to talk about until i find out that i avent got in

    - opinions from past, current, future students, applicants, passers by welcome - cheers

Would they not come under the university of wales rankings? i know Cardiff is ranked, would it be around the same maybe? I guess since it is such a new course, it probably doesn't have it's own ranking. It's def my first choice too...didn't make an open day but really liked it when i went for the interview

Anyone been in the situation where you had more than one offer and swansea was one of them? if so what did you choose and why?

I'm pretty sure it's separate, at least that was the impression that i got on the day of the interview, that they and Cardiff are totally different unis...although i'm open to discussion on that point...really hoping previous students would ave posted to be honest...would really like to get some feedback on this

    cheers in advance

It won't be in the rankings because it's a brand new course and only started in Sept 2009. However Swansea University has won the award for 'best student experience' in the past.

A medical degree is a medical degree. It makes very little difference where it's from, and with the standardised national recruitment for foundation programmes it won't affect where you can work on qualifying. The only real differences are between the course structures: if you want to intercalate, for example, you won't be able to do that in Swansea.

I did the Swansea/Cardiff course and thought it was excellent (the Swansea bit, anyway). If I'd had an offer from every medical school in the country I still would pick Swansea.

Cheers, it's good to know, it seems toatally new and geared up for grads which is great.

Is there anyone who had the option to go and didn't? would be interested to hear what you thought the pros and cons were

    thanks
