Hope you all got on well and good luck to those who have their interviews yet to come.
I had a bit of a grilling - the person who was supposed to interview me, realised he knew me just before the interview, so we had to swap around. I was interviewed by Olwyn Westwood and Adrian Evans. Both friendly - the interview turned into more of a discussion in parts.
The usual questions - why medicine, why Swansea, what specialty, what makes a good doctor, dealing with stress and ethical issues questions. I also had NICE guidance, integrated care pathways and change from position of responsibility to being told what to do. The latter questions were related to my PS and reference, so I don't think they are typical. The presentation at 11.30 goes through the way in which they are scoring candidates, so you get a good idea of what you need to cover.
Only need to wait until the end of the month now.

Hi Nutty. I had a great time but it was hard to determine how well the interview went. I was very nervous and rambled alot but you never know. I'm trying not to give the interview a post mortem ... It's easy to see the bad points and overlook the good.
Thanks for asking. I've got a leisurely 3 week wait now
I'll be checking tracker from Spain it seems (holiday on 23rd)
Best wishes ... FizzFREE EMQ EXAM PRACTICE

Hi Fizzwiz,
It was lovely to meet you too and I hope we will meet again when the course starts!
My interview seemed to go very well- lots of nodding and smiling. For those still waiting for their interview-It was very much based around my personal statement but also included questions about the qualities required to be a doctor, personal study skills, a question about my opinion on any medical issue in the news, and a couple of ethical dilemas. The interviewers were both really really nice and put me at ease immediately.
It might not have lots of shiney new facilities but there is a great atmosphere there and the staff are so nice and so keen. Fingers crossed.....

I just thought I would mention that I stayed in The Grosvenor House in Uplands.
The staff were really friendly (typical of Swansea I find) and my room was excellent. I thoroughly recommend it to those who have interviews next week. :wink:FREE EMQ EXAM PRACTICE
