Spread of GAMSAT marks

Hi everybody. Have just discovered this great site and have found it really helpful and reassuring. Especially nice to have such easy access to the Admissions Co-ordinator. I'm a psychology graduate but only have Biology AS so I'm finding revision for GAMSAT rather hard. I know you can compensate for a poor GAMSAT score with a good interview (keeping my fingers crossed for a nice letter before Christmas!!) but wondered if anyone knows what the spread of GAMSAT marks was for last year's successful candidates?

I couldn't draw you a graph but there is quite a big range, from the mid 50s up the the mid 70s that I know of for sure. People can and do get in with GAMSAT scores which aren't brilliant because although its important the interview counts for far more. I'd say the best thing you could do is to practice your interview technique and make sure you feel really prepared for that.

Good luck!

Hi James,

The GAMSAT scores from those students accepted last year ranged from 49 to 78. So as you can see, it is quite important that you get a good score in the test, however, the interview is the main tool for selection.

Thanks,

Claire

Angry GAMSAT Results 2007

Section I = 48
Section II = 50
Section III = 48

Overall Score = 49

Only applied to Nottingham. Cut off score is 61

Would I be totally right in thinking my chances of getting an inverview are zero?

Hey osullival!
I think the cut off for nottingham is 61, plus min 55 in section2 with min 55 and 50 in the other sections. but if u really want to clarify p'haps ring the admissions people, at least they may be able to tell u definitely?
Good luck with ur other choices
