Yep - I've applied there. Are you both still waiting?

So far nothing at all from them - suppose they're waiting on GAMSAT results - haven't heard about anyone getting an interview from them. Or getting a rejection, for that matter.
As for choices, well, that'll depend on how lucky I am. I'll worry about that in April

Me too, no pref just want a place anywhere will do!!

03-01-2004, 09:41 AM #16Weeeeeell, if I got both my four year choices (presumably the day after I win the lottery), then Notts would keep me closer to the Lovely Laura. Apart from that, there's really nothing in it. The pluses and the negatives of the two 4 year courses fairly much cancel out.

Swansea is my first (and only) choice. Nowhere else is really practical with a 1 year old and a partner with a local job that will have to keep us both.

OMG, GRIMSAT was truly grim!
I am certainly not a GRIMSAT fan and in my opinion it is a seriously flawed selection procedure that favours priveledge. It seems more and more institutions are falling for the sales tactics of a company selling psychometric testing procedures that were all the rage in the 80's but are generally fading in the corporate sector today. While I admit that the system may screen out weaker students it also screens out good students too and as such is an impersonal and insulting testing procedure.
Until now I assumed my degree was supposed to be a testimonial of my academic ability and I am sure a panel of good selection staff can do a much better job than an Ausralian company whose primary objective is to make money.
Did anyone notice that the gamsat.co.uk site boasts that 73% of students who attend their revision courses obtain interviews? At a few hundred pounds a go this clearly demonstrates that those with money can quickly buy themselves a place at the top of the selection pile.
I was sad to see Swansea using it and given that my performance during the exam did not seem to mirror my ability I like it even less. I just hope that I did enough as Swansea is my primary choice.

Swansea GEM interviews
I got a letter recently inviting me for an interview in March even though they couldn't possibly have my GAMSAT result yet. The reply slip actually said "Have you taken GAMSAT?". I wonder what will happen if they get my GAMSAT results by 10th March (interview) and they're terrible?
