No news is good news or no news is no news

Just thought I'd let you know what I know...

I spoke with admissions this morning, they said; that they had had a few stragglers to interview, but that all were now complete, and that the first round of offers were to be made at the end of the March/beginning of April...

NCL (A101): Interviewed, Jan 16th. Unconditional Offer, 15th March (Track)
    Soton (A101): Rejection, March 3rd...Thanks.
Nott (A101): Awaiting Rejection, GAMSAT 60.
    Swansea (A101): Interviewed, Feb 9th....

LOL, I bet that was heartstopping. I used to be a track addict. There is a certain technique you adopt of covering the result with your hand and seeing if the update date has altered.

Hope to see you all here in Sept, you'll love Swansea

My mum was the track addict in my family - she knew about my offer before I did! She rang me at work to ask me if I wanted to know... as if I'd have said no! Luckily it was good news

I can't believe that was two years ago. The time has gone so quickly and I can't believe how much I've learned. Last Tuesday we had one of our mock OSCEs (the clinical skills exam where you rotate round twelve stations doing examinations, taking histories and answering questions on x-rays, ECGs etc.).

I remember watching a similar thing in the tv programme they did on St George's GEP when it first started. At the time I couldn't imagine myself being able to do all those things with such confidence and to be so at ease with talking to patients and examining them - yet this week I was doing the exact same thing! It's a really great feeling when you look back and see how far you've come.

Hopefully you guys will be saying the same thing two years from now

    The waiting game!

Hi all... I don't know about you but the suspense is nearly killing me. This website is a God-send.

I just discovered I have an offer from somewhere else which is frankly astonishing (the first decision I've had - still waiting for the other three) but I'd really love to get one from Swansea.

The last time I felt this shocked was at the end of the GAMSAT exam.
The added pressure comes from the brave/mad gamble I took by resigning from my job before I had any offers (I finish my present career at the end of March and just got my last pay cheque) so it's wonderful to know it's actually going to happen somewhere...anywhere!

Good luck everyone. Let's enjoy the sense of hope while it lasts.

Congratulations on getting your offer. Where was it for?

Fingers still crossed for Swansea though. Swansea would still be my first choice if I were to re-apply again. (Though 4 years in a Seychelles medical school would have been a close second )

    Best wishes .. Fizz
