Learning Opportunity in the Clinical Setting

LOCS are half day or whole day placements that we do throughout the year. We have to complete a minimum of two a month and we can choose from a whole list of different things to go to, like theatre lists, outpatient clinics, ward rounds or multidisciplinary meetings.

LOCS help us get used to being in a clinical environment, help us put our learning into context and also give us an opportunity to practice our clinical skills.

Phil will be delighted that he has a fan club! I'd expect him to be there - he's the main admin guy.

At the last one I helped with, loads of the staff were there. They were doing presentations on the course and we were helping with the clinical demos and doing the tours.

I'm sure lots of people will be coming even if nobody on here is. If not, at least there will be more cake to go around

According to Phil there will be cakes, tea and biscuits

Of course, that could just be a ploy to get us existing students to come and help out!

Sorry Mel - you can't have the cakes to yourself. I'll be there and I think Alan said he was coming too... Ready for the 'call the crash team' call
