surgery and migraines
hi
i just wanted to know if classic migraine would exclude you from becoming a surgeon. i occasioanlly get the usual visual aura for 15-20mins and 9 times out of 10 no headache afterwards. the aura normally starts in times of relaxation (eg sleeping, watching tv) and not when you're focussed on something. would this disqualify you from surgery?
thanks

I dont think there is any problem. I have a cousin, he finished school like 3 years ago and suffers migraine. During his social service he realized different surgeries (I did not remeber exactly which kind of surgeries, may ask him) and never had any trouble. Obviously the days he have migraine in must cases he have to cancel all his patients and rest.
I think his case is worst than yours, and he is not having any problem.
