I imagine the questions will be quite odd and intended to throw a little bit, but still demonstrate decision making capacity, logical reasoning, etc. The ones on the website are interesting - but for Foundation to Med, so I'd imagine a bit gentler than we might recieve as grads, being a little bit older and a little bit more world weary. I think the empathy one of communicating difficult news to an actor is a dead cert, I'll bet any money on it

I’m basically living in constant fear. Been sick three times today already, and collapsed at work. I kid of course.

I think they may throw in one or two of the classics as well (why medicine? why you? etc), perhaps with the added curve ball of having to answer via an on-the-fly presentation or the likes. They did give some suggestions in the prep pack that hint at this.

I think it's a little odd they've asked us to show up so early, I'm not sure I buy the whole "no show" explanation. I hope they're not planning on assessing us covertly for over an hour! Anyone with an interview during 'Cycle 1', how much earlier have they asked you to show?

One more thing, does anyone know how they’re going to score work experience? Are they just going to go off our letters/forms? Or will they read through those, then ask questions? Or just go off what we say?

Had my interview yesterday, survived to tell the tale today. They don't covertly assess you for an hour, they take you to a room with two guys form admin who go through your paperwork so they can give you back envelope 1 and there's a student ambassador there for you to ask questions of while you are waiting for the earlier cycles to finish. From what I read the work experience is graded out of five according to what experience you had, eg caring for a relative is 1, hospital placements are 3-4 i thinkm the higher the better. The said the results are out in early feb, once everyone has been interviewed. They will update UCAS before they send out the letters and please don't ring to find out how you did because they will be very busy and it will only hold them up. Good luck guys!

Not really, the interview was fine. It was more the competition, which was quite tough. 3 weeks to wait now till results come out!

Thanks for the info chaps. Now to find some A4 envelopes - none in Tesco, none at Co-op, none at the post office!

In what reguard would you say the competition was tough?

Hi Dr Cool, The competition just seemed quite strong. There were a lot of very competent people at the interview today, which is definitely a good thing on a PBL course.

Not supprise that the competition is stiff.

I imagine the GAMSAT discourages the weaker candidates, so only the cream remain. Just look at the people on here!
