How important is the GAMSAT score?

    Hey,

I was just wondering how much emphasis they give to the GAMSAT score during selection. I read somewhere that they don't consult the score unless there are candidates who have similar interview scores and they need to make a decision. Does anyone have any idea about that? Did people who just made the cut off get in in the past?

I remember reading last year that, when multiple candidates scored the same at interview, GAMSAT scores were used to differentiate. Also candidates on the waiting list were ranked in order of their GAMSAT scores. I think if you look through this forum, if I remember rightly, there might be a useful thread on last years waiting lists and who got in and with what score.

This year with MMI, it may be different I guess. And as SGUL read personal statements after interview, I'd imagine they look at the GAMSAT score at the same time - but this is just my assumption.

    Hi,
Just to confirm what the person above said- at the open day this year the admissions tutor said that they only look at GAMSAT scores in deciding between people who did equally well at interview.

Do you mean once you are over the initial threshold? Because you won't get called to interview if you don't pass the level they set in the GAMSAT score (av 60 this year)
