This is my feeling too, especially as the interview process this year looks far more involved. Assuming the extra applicants follow a normal curve the cutoff this year may be higher than last year.
The Yale course looks great! Hopefully I won't be retaking but if I do I'll take a couple of weeks to run through it. I'm hoping revisegamsat will become a popular and useful resource helping people live their medical dreams

It's my belief that the cutoff score will go up. Last year they interviewed the top 45% (56) and Nottingham interviewed the top 35% (58). They may not go up drastically but I believe they will go up.

Hi again,
I'm pretty sure that George's interview the top 40% of applicants using their GAMSAT score as the measurement.
It remains to be seen how high or low the cut off will be this year with the additional applicants, in theory it could work either way. But I was thinking that George's have had a low cut off point, 56,55, over the last couple of years. Now to me I don't think that's necessarily because people were performing worse, but because they pushed it down to include less academic graduates who may have greater experience?!
From my experience of GAMSAT it appears that if you are capable of getting 65-70+ the likelihood is that you will probably already have a strong 2.i / 1st degree, in which case you would most likely favour the UKCAT route of application, rather than the evil GAMSAT. So I think that may have an effect on the cut off score for George's, Nottingham and Keele maybe, but who knows.
Oh and by the way, the person who has posted about them being a phlebotomist: Your work over the past 18 months is easily enough to score a 5 out of 5 in George's 'experience rating system' so I wouldn't worry about it. Although, you might want to do some chairty stuff, maybe for children in need etc for extra info if you get to interview. I'm an information manager at Manchester Royal Infirmary, and I'm even using that to support my application; but I've also been volunteering in a care home for about 5 months so far as well, so if I get any interviews it will be about 7-9 months. I also did the national Swimathon for Marie Curie, all stuff like that will help I imagine.
This Friday at 9 a.m......how much money on the GAMSAT website crashing due to over demand?!?! haha

I don't think they set the cut off to interview the top x%.
I thought the set the cut off to select a fixed amount eg 330 of the applicants for interview. So it's what ever mark that will cut down the applicant pool to the approximate number of interviews that they wish to do.

I'm in quite a state of shock at the moment, how did everyone get on with their GAMSAT scores?
I ended up with;
Section I 67
Section II 60
Section III 54
So with the GAMSAT methods my result is 58.75, which they rounded to 59.
Without the double weighting my overall score is 60.33333333333!!! This years's cut of 60!?!?!
I frantically phoned the admissions people and spoke to them about it, the girl I spoke to was great but she def couldn't confirm or deny if this is ok, but she did say they use both formula's to calculate the result and then take the highest one, Nott's do the same as well.
So by this method, does eveyone think I've met the cut off???????
If so I think it may be a record for the shortest margin ever!?!?!

It's pretty close, but as the result is the same whether you you pass by 0.1 or 40, just call it efficiency...

I note that GAMSAT appear to round down. With the double weighting my score is 64.5. But on the official results slip it's 64. Without the double weighting my score is 63.7 so either way 64 is a happy medium.
