Well I'll keep you posted on anything I receive to do with the course. Since I live in London I'd hope the post would be reasonably prompt! At least then you'll know when you should have received something!

In the past I think one or two of us oldies have also come and had a pint with the new first year before you all arrive for term.... So do ask if you want us to give you the dubious benefits of our accumulated experience! There are some from the lower years around here who might be better to talk to than us nearly-finalists as well...

This is probably as good a thread as any to say that me (femaile current 2nd year GEP), my friend (male 1st year gep), and my friend (female non=GEP) are moving into a new 4 bed flat on July 19th and we are looking for a 4th person - (a GEP male preferably). Rent will be 395 a month and bills probably under 100 - the flat is just on Eswyn road, about a 8 min walk from Tooting Broadway. Let me know if anyone is interested - it's a great flat and you'd potentially benefit from the wisdom of living with people in the years above (not to mention the vast amount of medical books).

Hi,

I said I'd let you know when I received something and I have (you've probably seen the other discussion on accomodation forms). Well I've received that form plus one other: a form where we have to fill in details to help them allocate us to PBL groups and GP & community placements.

Also enclosed was a checklist with an "X" next to any information they haven't received from us (thankfully no "X"s on mine), an "Information for candidates holding an offer at SGUL for September 2008", which is mostly restating information on previous forms (except they also recommend Meningitis and MMR vaccinations before September) and for people residing outside the UK they say they need a police check from current country of residence in addition to the CRB (I don't remember seeing that before, but hopefully you'd already been told). There was also a "Financial information for GEP 2008/09" sheet, a leaflet about the halls of residence and term dates for September 2008.

I think we had the term dates on a previous document, but since I can't find them thought I'd just list them here in case you're interested:

Term 1: Tuesday 2nd September - Friday 5th December
Term 2: Monday 5th January - Friday 27th March
Term 3: Monday 20th April - Friday 10th July

Of course you may already have received all this, but just in case I thought you might be interested.

I've also sent this as a private message, but thought it might be of wider interest (then maybe not!).

Stephen

Oh yes, and the two forms I mentioned have to be returned by 14th July (obviously the halls one only has to be returned if you want to live in halls!)

Hi,

I received the info pack and accomodation forms etc on Friday, and am sending the forms off today. Only thing is, I'm abit confused about the start date. In the letter, it says they allocate accomodation early September. As we start on 2nd of September, does anyone know if that means we won;t know for definite if we have a place in halls, and even if we do we won't be able to move in until after the course starts?

Thanks!
