may i remind people that SGUL is the only university within UoL with an accredited IBMS biomedical sciences degree, hence you can work as an MLSO afterwards, a degree from an unaccredited institution means you need to do a top up course after you've got your degree. many people look at the sgul biomed degree as a very good one as biomeds actually KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING in a lab afterwards, as compared to other so called biomed courses.
oh and
"u've not even startted to mention some of the ploys some your biomeds ave got up to in the past to claim that coveted transfer place, like not anding out past paper model answers to anyone else but there friends, 'iding books in the library when they are most needed and not preventing peers 'anding in their coursework by any emans necessary."
where the hell did you get that from? 5/6 years ago? i've NEVER heard of anyone doing things like that, biomeds are more than willing to help each other out and support each other, there is no cut-throat competition and this is coming from someone who is consistently in the top 5 of their year academically.
stop rubbishing the course here. the biomed course is good, it produces good scientists for those who want to be scientists, not medics. obviously most of the entrants want the transfer but not all of them. you're basically telling them they're wasting their time when actually, they probably have an advantage. of course anyone who's just missed the grades should reapply work hard before applying for biomed but if that fails, the transfer is an option. for some they have no choice; less-than-stellar gcses means that whatever grades they get at A-level few medical schools will consider them, considering the ridiculous amount of competition. i agree with JH, lay off. sgul is a great institution, whether you'll admit to it or not.
