I know... But hey, at least you have 3 days till Tuesday. I'm arriving on Monday morning so it's gonna be a close call for me. But I don't want to leave my kiddies longer than I absolutely have to. I only hope they don't give the rooms on a "first come first served" basis...

Whatever you do, make sure that you don't get room E005.

Oh, I don't know, it has a certain rustic charm - and I have slept in worse (albeit larger) rooms.

By the way I just got an e-mail about halls thanking me for returning the form (they are most welcome) and saying that further information and a contract is to follow. And if that weren't enough they look forward to welcoming me in September ([best American accent*]aww, shucks - a cake just for little old me...[/best American accent])

Wait till you see the en suite shower & toilet. The previous occupant, a throwback of monstrous proportions, was over 7 feet tall and had to sit on the throne with his knees round his ears and one buttock hanging over the side. Girls are safe from getting E005 as the ground floor is boys only.

I think I'm sold - rustic charm and a fascinating conversation piece! You don't happen to have a part-time job as an estate agent, do you? With the knack you have for selling a location you could single-handedly 'save' the property market.

I must admit to feeling a certain schadenfreude as the market plummets and the buy-to-let greedheads start to sweat.

I forgot to mention in my earlier message, I was told when I was looking round the halls that they supply cutlery and plates etc so that we don't end up with zillions of each..very sensible!

It's built on the old graveyard from the Victorian asylum. That and Munster lived in it for 6 months.

and its an alternative dimension room, in that, when you ring your mates from your room to come round, you are never in when they arrive.

even though they ring you back to find out you are still in your room....
