waiting list?

i had my interview on 6th december, got a rejection today (christmas eve,...harsh!) but they said they've put me on a waiting list?

i just wondered if this is normal, do most people get put on the waiting list? and is there much hope for an offer after that?

heyy its not a rejection when ur on the waiting list... coz evn on ur ucas it wont appear as a rejection.. it jst means ther unsure abt u.. im on waiting list too.. my mate who goz ther sed that last year evry1 got an offer if they had a ukcat above 600.. so it depends what they do this year. but they decide in spring for us.. and i no one person as well whos also on waiting list so i guess ther are lots more...

i was wondering...quite a few things.
do the people who have got rejected hear earlier than those with offers? also, the way the decide to give you an offer, is it solely based on interview performance or is the ukcat considered too?

also, those of you on waiting lists..did you get a letter saying you were? god this med school business is hell! they shouldnt make young people go through this much stress

lol so true! ye u get a letter abt the waiting list.. it dusnt appear on ur ucas..n m not sure abt whether rejections hear erlier than ppl with offers

i guess i've got to join the waiting list crew as well. Gosh i'm so gutted wud have loved to get an offer at least. anyway what do they base the waiting list on?? UKCAT maybe?? coz i got a pretty low UKCAT score. below 600.

wat scores does every1 else on the waiting list have??

My UKCAT was like 665 but when the got rid of the AR section, it got pushed up to like 710 now so. =]

Just have to wait and see now.. =[

oh and being on the waiting list means that we all scored the cut off score in the interview so say they scored out of 30, and their cut off was 26, those with 27-30 get offers, those with 25 and below rejections and when people score 26 they have to just wait since they might not actually interview enough people scoring over 26 and therefore once they have finished the interviews they will then look at us lot again. =] (this is why it is important to now keep your interview experience to yourself if other Georges interviewees ask! lol)

Thats when the UKCAT comes in to play and I guess they may look back at GCSEs and predicted A levels if they have to section off the waiting list to make offers.

urgh its soo stressful!! i got 630 and then wen the section was removd iv not got 627..so no tht great!

Atleast it didn't go down THAT much though, I have a friend who scored ridiculously high on the AR like (she claims 900 but I was doubtful about that..) anyways, she scored average 580-610 on the other sections so her average MAJORLY plumetted by over 80 when they removed the AR!

She was a tad gutted (>.<)
