I have an interview with SGUL on the 24th, my UKCAT was 665. I know its got nothing to do with the thread, but do ppl with interview that are late have an equal chance with those that get their interview early?

Of course there is equal chance!! That is the whole point of the waiting list. =]

They have set their expectations exceptionally high (interview score) so everyone who scores the cut off has to wait until all interviews have been completed.

It seems that they have ranked us on the waiting list and have some sort of system where as people get added on to it, those pushed off at the bottom receive rejections. Make sense?

xo

(to add to this thread, I got 687 in UKCAT - AR section) *fingers crossed*

Man, I'm really nervous about St Georges, I really need to do well in the interview! I have no offers so far, and to get in there would help lol. What worries me is that they haven't read ur PS, so I could rejected anyway if they think my PS is bad, regardless of how I do in my interview. I also hear that they reject ppl with less than 1 years work experience, which I don't have Man, I hate all this stuff, I'm getting paranoid

Hi - Dolly have you spoken to St G's re. the waitlist at all. I got the feeling as you said, that as they offer a place someone gets pushed off the end ! its horrible
Do you think we will find out soon ? cos of the UCAS deadline ? I see you have an offer from Leicester when do you have to make a decision

Don't worry about this. I had an interview for the 5 year Medicine course in early December, and i was going into it without any work experience under my belt (i only decided to go into Medicine at the last minute, so i couldn't get anything organized). After 3 days of having my interview (in which time they would have looked at your PS), i had an offer. So it must not have been that big a deal.

However, i did say in my PS that i had work experience lined-up, whereas in reality i had only got 1 day at a GP clinic set-up. It's terribly hard to get onto these work experience courses, either there's not enough places or medical staff aren't willing to have a youngster around their patients, which is fair enough.
