Smile Do you do an elective, and info about intercalated BSc

To all current SGUL A100 Medical students out there, just wondering: Do you do an elective at any time during the course, as in do you go abroad for a couple of weeks to study a subject of particular interest. Im a bit confused as there is no mention of this on the website/prospectus. Secondly, can someone tell me about the range of intercalated BSc degrees available for 5year med students, and which is most popular?

There's not a massive selection of iBScs but there is the option to do one at another medical school, KCLSM and RUMS being the most common. From next year, the iBSc will be open to ALL 5yr students, not just the top 75 as it is now... or whatever arbitrary number they assign.
Yes, we do do electives... in the fifth year, I think it's a ten-week slot?

However, it's less common for people to go away for that - although I think someone's in South Africa on theirs atm?
