Medicine A100 guaranteed interview
IS that true that if you have the minimum requirements for St georges you are guaranteed an interview. if that's the case then they have to interview almost all the applicants?! which doesn't sound like an easy job.
anyone any idea?
I'm planning to apply for 2008 entry.
Feel free to discuss good/bad points about the med school

Wow...predected 4 A's and was still unsuccessful? ...oh well it was their loss last yr as far as I can see. Do you mind me asking what you think went wrong? Im trying to avoid any small errors which might effect my application.
thanks,
Darren

I think my choice of unis wasn't that wise.
and I didn't have the brain of miss monkey,
I applied to
*Cambridge - Impossible to get into
*Southampton - suddenly had 4500 applicants! 1 in 16 chance getting in
*Queen Mary changed their policy half way, setting a cut off point for UKCAT scores below 600, I got 590 !!!! DAMN
*Leicester - Interview, I scored 24 out of 30 they said not good enoug, lol
to be honest I think I wasted first three of my choices, Oh well I'm still 19 I have time, heh
I hope that helps

yes it's true they'll interview if you make the cut off mark. There's a flow chart somewhere (I think in the prospectus) illustrating it diagramatically. If they said they would, they won't lie to you :P
True also on the point about what type of school you go to. If you go to one with a lower average A-level score then the cut off mark for interview is lower.
Sorry to hear you didn't get a place with your predicted grades. If you smack your A-levels on its head then when you reapply with 4 actual As then you'll get an interview for sure. That's the problem with predicted grades, they mean nothing. You reap what you sow

You're right.
I'm killing myself at the moment but for some unknown reason my revision is going much slower than I anticipated.

i've heard a few applicants complaining on these boards about being rejected from st georges without interview, despite meeting their criteria...but I'm sure if you have the grades, some extra-curriculars and work experience you'll be more than fine...
(that's such bad luck on your previous choices!)[insert best signature ever]
