Intercalating BSc Research Projects
Just wondered if anyone who is currently doing or has completed an intercalated BSc at George's could give me some advice about selecting a research project. I have to aply in the next fortnight or so, and at present have no idea what it is best to apply for.
At the moment I'm thinking Physiology or Neuro Pharmacology or Anatomy and Development. Any advice on good tutors to look out for, how to secure specific projects and just generally deciding would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, I did an Anatomy and Devo resaerch project. The subject matter is really interesting and nice not to be doing PCR all day, you get to play with mice! It can be very hit and miss what tutors you get down there. Seom are really helpful and then some have lots of other work to do and can therefore not give you a lot of the time. Also, most of the projects that are done in the A&Devo dept are on stuff that people do not know yet and therefore you have to find really up to date research inorder to get a really good diss written. This is the down side, the up side is that it is really interesting. Other projects i.e. physiology and things are on things that have already discovered or advancing knowledge that is already there, therefore is easier to research. But ultimately you have to choose something that is interesting to you. As i can guarantee that you WILL get bored and one of the ways through it that it is something tht is interesting to you. Hope this helps.
