Residency in the Uk, work in th US
Hi,
I'm about to complete my specialty training in Endocrinology and Diabetes in the Uk.
Can I work in the US without having to re-do all my training?

Not unless a uni/hospital invites you as an academic clinician and you pass the usmle, very complex route in.
Otherwise it's pass usmle, residency in im, then fellowship in e+d = 4-5 yearsLive the dream!

It's difficult for a foreign trained doctor to gain recognition in another country
I think it's better to stay in the UK since that is where you've trained. going to the US would create some problems for you. First, you will need to repeat your training all over again. But before this, you will need to compete for a training position in the US with all the US medical graduates. They also tend to give competitive training positions to US citizens rather than to give it to a foreigner (a very nationalistic and natural thing to do). Basically, you'll also run into the old boys club phenomenon, whereby you will be seen as an outsider, and thus discriminated against.
Same thing would happen to them, if they tried to come to the UK to get their specialty qualifications recognized.
