Can anyone tell what is the difference between "Run Through ST" and the CT programmes?

As far as I know, CT years are for 'uncoupled' specialties so you do 2 CT years then compete to enter your chosen specialty at ST3 level.
Run through training is available for 'coupled' specialties, so you enter at ST1 straight from foundation years and then run through the ST years until registrar level.

See which specialties fit into each category here http://www.mmc.nhs.uk/pdf/Quick%20Guide%20FINAL.pdf

Run through (ST) = SHO and registrar level, most rotas still distinguish as SHO and registraar.
CT - core training, essentially old style SHO posts, may be 2 or 3 years depending on specialty and also set to change (ie, surgery is becoming 3 years rather than 2)

no it depends on specialty. Paeds, psych, GP, O&G are run through. Surgery, core medical training (physicians), anaesthetics, Emergency Med are uncoupled.
