    Training salaries

For anyone who wants to understand more of the issues surrounding the erosion of drs salaries at training level compared to some of their allied professional colleagues. This really brings some of the issues home

I clicked on the salaries scales tab...is the 'current' column from before April or is it actually now? If that's just basic pay, how come it's gone down??

On reading that alone, it seems like agenda for change is the way forwards!
ANYTHING WRITTEN BY ME ON THIS SITE DOES NOT REPRESENT THE VIEWS OF SOUTHAMPTON UNIVERSITY!

On reading this alone maybe... cynics would argue putting doctors and nurse practitioners on the same pay scale would be another step toward the land of "everyone's equal" where nurses operate and we hand them a scalpel.

I think the real point is that junior doctors are underpaid when compared to others in the NHS at the moment.

1A SHO earns more than a 1C specialist registrar!

1A SHO works more unsociable and probably in total more hours than a 1C registrar, therefore pay per hour for registrar is probably still better.

there's no doubt that junior doc's once they lose the banding due to EWTD get paid far far too little.(to be honest i think doctors in general do) they will have to sort an alternative.

The AFC is a crap system as a Band 5 (previous E grade staff nurse) i get paid less than some of my junior colleagues! when we coverted over to the new system the wonderful AFC!! you see what one trust deems a band 5 could be a band 6 down the road or even push it to a 7, However from that article it appears it may work better for junior doctors.
