    UKCAT score for BM4

    Hey guys,

I have been doing some searching and have also contacted Southampton about how they use the UKCAT score for BM4 applicants, however they didn't seem to want to reveal much, they just reiterated that the cut-off this year was 2400.

Does anybody know how they use the UKCAT score? Do they consider everyone's application who scores above the threshold and not consider the UKCAT again? Do they use the score alongside the personal statment etc? OR do they simply state a cutt-off score but in reality do not consider anyone outside the top 25% for example?

The reason I ask is I am considering applying to Southampton as my only UKCAT university. I'm banking on the GAMSAT as my UKCAT was only 660 so is not likely going to be high enough for KCL, Warwick etc.

    Many thanks

    Hey
This is the info i got from a pdf that i downloaded!!

University of Southampton, School of Medicine
    UKCAT Consortium Member: YES
UCAS Course Codes for UKCAT: A100, A101, A102
What they say about the UKCAT:
“From 2013 entry, applicants to A100 and A101 (4 and 5 year programmes) must
score 2500 or above in the UKCAT exam in order for their application to be
considered further. The cut-off score does not apply to the six year widening access
programme (A102), but the UKCAT score will continue to be used alongside all other
information as part of the selection process.”

Thanks for the info. Yeah I read the PDF but was just after some clarification on whether they use the UKCAT score after the initial cutt-off also.
