Okaaay, two weeks ago, I got my rejection from Soton & spent the day crying... then the night at work crying... then I decided to get the hell over it.
If it wasn't for my wonderful boyfriend, I wouldn't want to stay in Southampton anyway, so we have to figure out a way to work long distance out as I'm going to be at Peninsula or maybe Brighton come autumn...
I wish people didn't just apply to Soton because they don't interview. It makes it harder for those of us who actually really want to study there!
    2010 Applicant
    Soton - rejected
    BSMS - interviewed 10th Feb - OFFER 340 POINTS - FIRM
    PMS - interviewed 14th Dec - OFFER 400 POINTS - INSURANCE
    Nottingham - rejected w/o interview

    UKCAT av. 692.5
    Predicted A*A*Aa
    GCSEs A*A*AAAAAABBB

kdichard, I know what you mean....Southampton is so much more competitive because people are like "oh they don't interview"....I'll apply there.

Sadly, its one of those things we (applicants who ACTUALLY want to go Southampton for genuine reasons) have to go through
    2009:
    UCL- Rejection: without interview
    Imperial- Rejection: after interview
    Kings- Rejection: without interview
    Southampton- Rejection

    2010:
    UCL- Acknowledged
    Southampton- Offer! (20th Jan)
St George's- Waiting List Offer (21st Dec)
Nottingham- Rejection: without interview (13th Jan)

    Academics:
    GCSE's: 5 A*'s, 7 A's
    AS Level: Physics(b)
    A-Level: Biology(A), Chemistry(A), Psychology(A), General(B)
    UKCAT: 620 Average
    BMAT: 5.2, 4.6, 9.0 (18.8)

really sorry you got rejected. I had to apply where they do Widening Participation and Soton were very encouraging when I spoke to them.-it wasn't the lack of interview but I know it does encourage more applicants. I think no interview makes it harder to get in as the ps/ref has to be fantastic. I got 3 interviews and have 2 offers and waiting for leeds to decide. I couldn't even get on Soton's waiting list which shows no interview is not the easy option people think.
