Applying to BM6 2010 Entry?
So who is applying to BM6 for 2010 entry? I'm reapplying and thought it would be good to get to know other applicants and support each other through the hell that is UCAS. The 09 thread was good but let's see if we can make this one even better.

Hello, I intend to apply for the BM6; although I am slightly apprehensive due to the previous applications: place ratio. Have you sat the UKCAT for this year's application cycle...?

Hey. Yes the applicants to place ratio is really worrying, I was like that last year too. The statistics for the course are something like 300ish apply, 200 interviews and 40 offers. Then 30 lucky people actually start the course. I was unlucky in that I got an offer but missed the grades by 2 measly marks.

I'm still considering if I should go for it or not..
Not sure yet though, I want to ask admissions something before I make a decision

the medical school have some software which they enter your postcode in. i think all applicants postcodes are checked but we cant do it ourselves - you have to appply to them and then they check it themselves. if you don't meet the 2 criteria you are normally rejected pretty quickly

Yes I applied last year, got an interview which went reasonably well, got a further consideration letter then bam! a unsuccessful on ucas and a letter saying we will happily accept you if any places are available on results day - basically smily crocodile talk
.. which obviously there weren't since the entry requirements are low, and people who were able enough to get interviews could surely achieve CCC in A levels.
My advice, its probably the most competitive foundation course in the country so dont underestimate, and go all out with ur application and interview if u get one.
