against definately.
they get 4000 apps a year. they try to cut as much people as they can on the basis of PS, reference and UKCAT. I'm sure they will get to a point where they have 600-700 left for only 200 places. they cannot eliminate anymore because there is nothing else to compare the candidates against. that's probably when they start throwing the coin lol. no interview, how else can they select the best people?University of Southampton

Does anyone know if my entry profile is high enough? UKCAT etc? it seems that some uni's require slightly different grades than what they publish in their prospectus?

Southampton asks for a UKCAT of 2200 total, so you should be fine. Don't know about typical grades - maybe email admissions? Good luck.

Soton advise that they look at academic criteria and if their minimum is met that's it, then they focus on the non-academic. The 2200 UKCAT cut-off is new this year, and perhaps will help reduce numbers??
No interview for the majority means you must have an ace ps and reference...
check the website or prospectus for the non-academic criteria, which is then rated 0-5 from the ps for each one.
