However, if some moderators haven't been active for a couple of months, then their commitment should be questioned...

New mods vs old mods, the thing about new mods is that they don't have the years of experience that the originals have when it comes to rules... Also, a moderator would need the detailed knowledge and experience of what goes on from admissions through to core/specialist training.

Now regarding the self nominations, I propose that the users with spare time put themselves forward so that the administration of this site can be aware of people who are willing to undertake the responsibility of moderating the forums. However these nominations should not be accpeted without the support of two other nominees. There can then be a sort-of poll where users of this forum can vote for who they would think would be most appropiate for the role and using this information the administration of this site can come to a decision as to who would be fit for the role of moderator.

Guys, a bit of perspective please, we are talking about making minor alterations on a small, fairly quiet forum, not being on a GMC panel...
