I'm not a graduate, just a loser trying to find his way. IDK how you could have confused me with someone who has had a good education Ernie.

I'm guessing it was the BSc that threw people off. Looks like we missed the "considering" part.2009

I think the forum is slightly undermoderated compared to what it used to be like. Back then, it was over-moderated. I don't think there's any immediate need for new moderators. However, if some moderators haven't been active for a couple of months, then their commitment should be questioned.
From what I've seen over the years, the mod team on here, whilst possibly appearing below the radar when it comes to making posts, do have a presence not always seen, and problems are rectified pretty quickly.
New mods vs old mods, the thing about new mods is that they don't have the years of experience that the originals have when it comes to rules, and for some sixth formers who have less spare time than many medical students (if their personal statements are actually accurate..) who do not have the same degree of maturity, should not be moderating this forum. For grads, it's different, all the GEP moderators on here (and most GEP applicants) are mature in more ways than one and are appropriate for the role. Also, a moderator would need the detailed knowledge and experience of what goes on from admissions through to core/specialist training.
That said, we don't need any new moderators, and if there were any new ones, there's only a few names on here who I'd trust to moderate the forums on here (*swallows pride*, Arch_Angel and Bambi are two names who come to mind).BSc (Hons) Orthopaedic Science (UCL)

Hi Folks, I've been a bit busy recently with starting a new job and working on my PhD so I've not been so quick to pick up spam and trolls as I used to be. I'll try and do an assessment of things this week and see if we can start banning a bit more quickly. If anyone has been on the forum for a number of years and has the time to help moderate please drop me an email or PM with your details and I will keep you in mind when/if we need more moderators.

I've been a moderator since I was...18/19? I don't think age is an issue. It comes down to maturity.
Doesn't matter how old I am now...Last edited by Clarkey; 04-11-2008 at 03:46 PM. Reason: To stop the pendants getting too excited
