I'm glad you pursued this idea Baki. I think it's a nice idea.

It's probably worth pointing out that some of the original mods don't seem to be around anymore....
More members, more spam, less people to deal with it. Although it usually doesn't stick around for long

I understand that the moderation team tries it's best (and I just discovered where the report button was hidden on this template and I plan to use this whenever I can) but there simply aren't enough of you.
For example, the Money-Makes-Friends debacle was not dealt with for days (almost weeks) and I know the moderation tries their best but the team is simply just too small for a forum of this size.
More recently, there was a user named "Krayzie" who posted dozens of random, annoying posts in the UCAS application thread before he dissapeared (I assumed he was banned).
Now regarding the self nominations, I propose that the users with spare time put themselves forward so that the administration of this site can be aware of people who are willing to undertake the responsibility of moderating the forums. However these nominations should not be accpeted without the support of two other nominees. There can then be a sort-of poll where users of this forum can vote for who they would think would be most appropiate for the role and using this information the administration of this site can come to a decision as to who would be fit for the role of moderator.
I nominate myself, and also Kinkerz. Arch_Angel also gets my vote of confidence.

Lol. Baki, Money-makes-friends and Krayzie stopped posting because the user stopped using them and created a new one.
Yeah I'm happy to do it... And I think Sim and Arch Angel would make good mods.Third Year Medical Student: Keele

I've moderated elsewhere before and am reachable if not already on the site most evenings. This ain't a self nomination, just a declaration of how empty my life is hehe.

Seconded. I won't put myself forward for any roles (unless you really want me to) until at least after January, if not the summer. I can imagine moderating does take some time.

I nominate Zedd
- for two reasons:
1) - He's had experience.
2) - He's a 'mature (graduate)' applicant. Sorry to people like Kinkerz and Baki, but I think people of Zedd's 'category' would be far more better at this job than 18 year olds.Leicester Fresher 2009!!
