In the medical school write-ups, more information is given that could form part of the questions. For example, social life for students in the locality.

Something I think is definitely needed for choosing a medical school is what kind of course you want e.g. traditional pre-clinical/clinical, integrated or PBL. That was the biggest factor I considered when comparing medical schools to apply to.

Not bad on the whole however!

I agree here: perhaps the question should be 'would you like to intercalate/have a foundation year' etc., because although I would like to intercalate given the option of doing one on a five year course, I'd take it.

It seems pretty good though. It got my four choices in the top elven and I like the open endedness (i.e. you don't have to choose an option if you don't want to). It also forces them to think about the different aspects which might affect their choice.

Will add more comments as they occur to me.

Also, It asked in the which would you prefer section whether I'd go for
LONDON & NORTH vs SMALL TOWN & SOUTH.
London isn't North last time I checked.

Too much emphasis on A levels

Hey,

There were loads of questions about A levels and not enough regarding alternative qualifications. If this is to be a tool for all of the UK's medical schools then it should have more variety.

Also agree with earlier comments about the 5/6 year thing, as it doesn't state specifically what is being referred to. And if Admin wants to sell this then it needs to be greatly improved.

As medical wannabes we have to pay for many things, but there will be serious riots if anyone pays for this.

Hope this helps,

hmm dunno if its good enough to sell yet... needs more detail all round

plus then there are ethical implications of selling a med skl selector, something we've all had to do ourselves at no cost before...

I really doubt that they were ever thinking of charging for it.
It just makes it slightly easier picking between choices. At the end of the day I think people are more than capable of making the same decision without the helpful thing.
