Thanks to everyone for volunteering. We probably have enough for now. I'll get in touch shortly with instructions on how to use the decision tool.

Hi Folks,
You should all have access to 1000minds now. There should be a large link at the top of the page. Click that, and then click 'enter 1000minds' to enter the programme.
Please post your thoughts and any feedback here. Bear in mind this is the first beta - we will change and improve the tool based on your feedback.
We have enough beta testers now but hopefully there won't be long to wait before this goes on sale and everyone can use it.

1st bug: "1000minds patented decision support algorhythm" should read "1000minds' patented decision support algorithm".

Perhaps something in the algorithm should account for impossible scenarios in the "decisions" bit:
I just got "Oxbridge - Low grades" against "Not oxbridge - High grades required". Somewhat of a self-defeating question. I don't know how easy to code it out of the system it would be though..
Similarly: "Oxbridge - Not in Southern Britain".
It works for most imaginary medschools, but when oxbridge is specified then it's no longer imaginary...
Other than that i think this is very good. It's nothing clever, you tell it what you like and it tells you which schools have that, but it does it in a nicely presented and easy way (compared to trawling paper/websites).
It came up with my four choices as 1=, 3, 4, 5=. The others at 1= being Oxford, and 5= Cardiff. So not bad at all, even the ones that weren't my actual choices weren't far off as far as schools go.Fresher medic*, doesn't know any medicine. Slight issue.¬
