It would be really useful if there was a seperate graduate entry medicine (GEM) forum, even if it was a subforum of the mature forum
. The GEM stuff is generally in the mature forum; however, a lot of mature students are not necessarily applying to GEM courses but to normal 5 year courses or 6 year access courses.
There are a lot of differences between mature first degree students and mature graduate students (courses, funding, etc), and the mature students forum is quite a jumble with people applying to completely different types of courses.

Just a bit of feedback, not sure you will like it though, but just my views. I think the layout of this site is far, far, far too "busy". I never thought I would say it but AF, with it's simple style, is much more user friendly.
Whats with all the US/ Canada/ Oz forums? They are hardly (if ever) used
I remember the MSG of 2003 and it was always a joy to visit, full of great posts and easy to navigate. The site nowadays takes so long to trawl through, with hundreds of pointless forums and distracting advertising, it is actually a chore to sieve through it all and locate a decent thread.
I realise things may have moved on (commercialism rules OK) and someone has to pay for it all, but the community feel MSG once had is long dead and gone IMHO, which is a shame. Even the moderators don't seem to post much these days. Maybe I am being nostalgic, but were there not far more hits back then than nowadays?

Having separate templates is a bit too much work as whenever I make an update to the software, I would need to repeat this in each of the templates. Adverts are necessary to pay for hosting and maintenance. I could add a subscription system so that if people really don't want adverts they could subscribe to cover their use of the forum and have the adverts removed.

I think people like having big avatars! I'm pretty sure I would get a lot of abuse if I reduced the size allowed (although this is possible!).

I'd quite like to see all our avatars down to a small standard size. I liked it when they were to the left of postings too (although my son thinks I may be able to set that myself?) as the newer arrangement seems to lead to a lot more paging up and down.

I think having individual forums for each medical school for Australia and the US is a bit excessive, since many have few or no threads within them.

If you don't like the ads and clutter, go to the bottom left of the screen and find the little pull-down box that says 'Element Blue'. Change it to 'Default Style'.
