My interview was an absolute nightmare. They laughed at my answers (laughed at me, not with me), picked at/grilled me on my answers and they asked me for about 7 different things I'd read in the news til I got to the one they wanted me to talk about.

My advice is just to keep going, even if you think/know you are doing horrible because you never actually know what the interviewers are thinking. Thinking back, I must have done pretty good to have got in.
Take advantage of the people giving you your tour- they'll know about the course and city but probably not much stuff on current affairs.
Know your PS inside-out and make sure you've read a few current affairs stories and maybe even the morning paper. Sometimes they do ask what you've read/seen in the news that isn't medical.

Medical history normally means a significant event in the past 200 years or something. Watson and Criks discovery of DNA structure is the obvious/easiest choice. I never got asked this.

Do you think they were tough on you because you were a reapplicant? My interviews tomorrow and I think their gonna be really tough on me because I'm a reapplicant.

Agreed, I was put on the summer reserve list last year, it just gives false hope. But is getting an interview early on a good thing? If you have it near the end they have less places to offer right? I had my interview right near the end last year, I'm glad I got it early this year, actually I'm glad I got an interview at all!

had my interview today and have to say that it went well...they actually laughed with me and didnt ask me anything bout new issues and the nhs and they looked at my personal statement two minutes before the end and just asked me what did you do in my spare time

got asked the typical why medicine, why sheffield, weaknesses, strengths, work experience

seemed to go very well but i dont want to jinx it lol

good luck everyone else who has an interview soon
