Thread: Sheffield Interviews

There will have been some interviews sent out, as they usually give you a couple of weeks notice and interviews are due to start tomorrow - but they'll only send out a few at a time, so don't worry.
The scoring is based on your performance at interview, but interviewers will have had the opportunity to read your personal statement beforehand, so they may ask you specifically about something you put in it. Otherwise, it's up to you to mention those things if you feel they're relevant to the topic being discussed.

Thank you very much for the help! Hopefully there will be someone as friendly as you on all the panels! Other than reading the NHS site for Sheffield, do you have any other suggestions for researching the health issues that apply to the area?
Thanks again,
Joe

As long as you have a general awareness of the health issues in the news nationally and worldwide at the time of the interview then I shouldn't worry about knowing too much about the local area.
When you start at Sheffield, one of the very first things you are shown is the map of Sheffield showing the prevalence of various diseases by area of the city - this emphasises the health inequalities between the more affluent and more deprived areas.
There's something a bit similar at this address for South Yorkshire as a whole, so maybe you could have a look at that to give you an idea of common problems in the area as they relate to affluence of the area:

Once you have made it to interview, you're 80% of the way there so play it safe.
