hey! i know this thread has probably already been started somewhere else but i cant find it! i wanna know what the night life is reaaaally like in sheffield and i don't just mean the uni/student nights at the union. does sheffield city centre have a variety of clubs that play loadsa diff types of music and stuff (spesh alternative and 60s!) haha? and what are the prices like? is it just like a typical student city//?
xxx
10% of the population in Sheffield are students in term-time. There are therefore many varied nights, 70s, 80s etc and I believe Gatecrasher. Prices are 'reasonable' for the North, though obviously higher at the weekend/in trendy bars.
Sheffield is a great friendly city with a good mix of nite life. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Its live music scene is growing too after the Artic Monkeys making it big.
I certainly enjoy my weekends back there (did my undergrad degree there and my bf lives there), I'm sure you will too if you choose shef
Good luck Vix
