    Accomadation help!

I recieved an offer from Sheffield last month and will most likely have it as my firm choice, however I can't decide which Halls I prefer. I have already ruled out one (Sorby) as it has limited data connections. I would like to be in catered halls and have a data connection, can anyone give me any extra info or recommend any of the halls?

wow look at your offers, i went for earnshaw in the end as i'd looked round there on an open day and thought it seemed nice, i wanted pretty much the same as you, plus i wanted to be in the endcliffe area. when you send off your form u just get an email saying they dont allocate accomadation till you have fulfilled your offer requirements, oh and they make you make a 2nd choice non catered, if you've put catered as your first - a bit odd!

    neway cya next year hopefully

    Avoid Tapton, Sorby -

Ranmoor is Ok has good bar but is furthest from the med school.

Earshaw is also good - good bar - closer to med school.

Stephenson (where i am) - closest to med school - not that great bar - but its nice and quiet. Quite posh as well.

Jam9 - When you say Stephenson is "nice and quiet" and that the bar is not that great, would you say that Stephenson is less lively than Earnshaw or Ranmoor?
How long would you say it takes to walk from Ranmoor to the med school?
Which would you say is the liveliest hall, or are they all about as social as each other?
When we fill out accommodation, do we get only the one choice, or do we have to number all of the choices from least favourite to favourite type thing?

Sorry for all the questions...I'm trying to decide which accommodation to put down, ya see.

they're all pretty close to eachother.... stephenson is about a ten-ish minute walk from ranmoor and is about a five minute walk from sorby and stuff i think.... and the med school would be about a 15/20 walk from ranmoor and about a 10/15 walk from the others... mostly down hill there

I keep hearing that Stephenson is the most popular and that you'll be lucky to get your choice of room there, so Im looking at the other halls. What do you think of Earnshaw and Halifax, are they fairly close to each other? Are they fairly quiet or lively halls?

i applied to Earnshaw, it was the only one i managed to get a look at and liked it so thought it was better to go for somewhere i'd seen! I liked it - cool pizza place and gym etc.
