    and for who?

what do you do as a pupil council member?

what did these experiences tell you about yourself.
Ok then.............Mainly the elderly DON'T LIKE TO HEAR, only talk about themselves, the ones suffering from dimentia repeat things but I love listening to them AGAIN AND AGAIN, like war time stories Youth knife crime was working in collaboration with young people, how much strain is put on our police, health care services becus of knife crime. Basically knwing how as an individual I can reduce this crime, like by being responsible and spreading the word. My project achieved EQUALITY for ALL. No matter what their background is. I did workshops with various groups of young people, and then designed a comic to achieve my aim of making people think "CAN YOU ADD WITHOUT THE EQUAL SIGN?" (This was my own title btw ) As a pupil council member I organise events, suggest new ways to deal with problems in school. These experiences have made my overall personality clear to myself. I am patient enough to listen to the same thing again and again. I have been determined enough to continue with my project even after financial barriers, and initially ONLY TWO PEOPLE involved bulit my confidence, working as a team, organised, leadership, communication skills, limitations to what I can do for others........I am using someone elses laptop so writing SHORT, but on the day it will be my own tongue so I will be able to continue for longer, but I don't wanna bore them to death LOLZZZZ.......

hmmmm I see where you are coming from, good good will prepare me well for my interview Because I want to use my time while helping others. If not help atleast just talking to them and making them feel that there is always someone who is willing to listen to them if they are willing to talk. A partially blind woman, really really determined to take no ones help, but wouldn't quit smoking knowing she HAS TO. I tried to enlighten her about her potential (she loves me), hopefully my regular visit might help her quit

Best way to get clinical placements is to get in touch with the clinical lead of the department, cos it's that guy that has to give the go- ahead on students, even if consultants say yes.

You've done enough my dear =)

Thank you for the reply Btw I just thought I would add, I shadowed an ophthalmologist in a private clinic yesterday, and even observed the whole LASIK surgery treatment thing, lasting half an hour. Nothing directly hospitalish but I think unis will appreciate my effort. And oh the 20 letters paid off lolzzz I managed to secure a day's shadowing in the dermatology department, a three day visit to a hospital and the Nex Gen Programme. Hopefully, they all will stick to their YES lolzzz

Work exp doesn't necessarily have to be in a hospital, different types of shadowing make you stand out a bit, cos you can bet that practically everyone is going to have done hospital shadowing! That's really good though, hope you have fun!

One thing for your PS though, make sure you write about what you learn from your work exp, not just where you went and what you saw. They want to know that you've learnt something about the role of a doctor =)
