Advanced Higher Chemistry 2005
Well...
I was pleasantly surprised by that! I didn't swear at the question paper and I could answer most of the questions... which came as a huge surprise (whether I answered them right is another matter)! Even the organic questions weren't that bad... but I do still maintain my hatred of unit 3 in all its forms...

I know what you mean, I actually came out of the exam in a happy mood!!
Of course, that could have a lot to do with the sheer excitement of it finally being over... but I feel sure it is also because it was quite a nice paper!! Especially compared with last years one - I did that past paper yesterday and it really scared me!!

I thought it was quite a reasonable paper - am soo happy it went quite well compared to maths!! The only question that I was pretty stuck at was the aspirin one but put some rubbish down anyway. Spoke to my chem teacher after it and apparantly she wrote ALL of it apart from the first written question on semiconductors! So wish that she had given us clear *hints* on what was in it. Would have saved all the hell of even having to look at unit 3 lol!
Woo hoo got my leavers' form signed and am offically free!! It's a really great yet weird feeling. I've got my leavers' ball on friday, hopefully it should be a good laugh and not too many boring speeches. Yay so happy chemistry's over forever!!!**Glasgow 2005**

I can't get my leavers form until after admin tomorrow!!
I didn't do the aspirin determination one either - I didn't even do that PPA cos I couldn't be bothered with them by that point. Oh well, only 7 marks!!
My prom isn't til 2 weeks on thursday.... a good thing since I am so unorganised and haven't really given it that much thought up til now!!

the aspirin question was tough cos i didn't bother writin it up either. come to think of it.....i didn't even carry out the experiment!!
got most of the calculation done though.
i have a copy of the question paper in front of me if anyone wants to hazard discussing it. i'm tempted to put up my multiple choice answers, but i've probably got most of them wrong!!
i'll do it if someone else dares............heheMBCHB2 - Glasgow

yeah i'd say overall it was an alrite paper, we even did that aspirin ppa a year ago but i couldn't remember any of it lol, although thought my calculation was VERY dodgy. loved the question on semiconductors though!
i thought the multiple choice was more difficult than the written paper tho, just guessed a couple of them but overall i hope i've done fairly well.
the organic questions were fairly alrite as well, just praying i;ve done enough for a good mark! lol
officially left school now! way!I wanted to be with you alone.
And talk about the weather.

I've got my question paper with my multiple choice answers... but I fear sharing them might take the edge off my happy mood, blissful ignorance is the way to go!
The higher paper got a conjugate acid/base question as their advanced higher problem solving question... that's easy! Last year we got that nasty NMR graph to draw, I spent about 20 minutes just staring at it... and then randomly drew lines everywhere!
Oh, I'm feeling all sad at moment as it won't be long before a fresh batch of bright eyed new sixth years start to worry about personal statements, interviews, obsessive checking of ucas and the evils of advanced higher chemistry... Sigh, those were the days...Last edited by An-can-you-dig-it-drew; 31-05-2005 at 10:37 PM. Reason: I'm a moron who can't type

I know what you mean about being sad seeing all the new sixth years! My brothers going into sixth year and i can just think of all the fun he'll have doing nothing in free periods and stuff! I've warned him about chemistry though, so its his own fault if he takes it! Doubt any of the new sixth years i know will be as obsessive a ucas track checker as i was though....
But they all have to go back to school on monday, and we don't!I wanted to be with you alone.

lol!
Great feeling, isn't it? My sister's going to be in fifth year so she has school too. She has to go in tomorrow afternoon, induction on friday and tuesday and school on wednesday. And I'll be at home doing NOTHING!!!
It's so great to have finally left school!! But the really scary thing about today was it being one of the p7 visit days. They all look so young!! And I recognised some of them from when I was in primary seven and I used to help in their p1 class. Which is weird!!
It's just really odd to think that when I was their age I was already dead set on medicine. It seems like so long ago...!!
