    First of all, congratulations!
    I don't know how much experience you have giving presentations, but some general advice (apologies if it seems a bit basic):

    * Take your time - it may seem to you that every pause lasts forever but it usually won't to those listening. One thing I see a lot in presentations are people rushing through speaking too fast (I've been there and done that).

    * If you get lost at any point don't panic - pause for a moment, take a breath and resume. If you really can't remember something move on (if you remember later don't suddenly come out with it unless it fits in with the flow).

    * Sometimes there are technical hitches (powerpoint, the projector, etc.) so don't worry if there are. Be prepared to talk without powerpoint - it's unlikely to come to that, but a presentation is more about what you say than what you show.

    * Don't be put out if they don't laugh at your jokes - I don't know if you've put any in, but frequently they do fall flat unless you have good comic timing and have targetted them for the audience.

    * There's usually a question and answer bit at the end - this is the part which you can only prepare for to a limited extent. If you really can't answer something say so and if someone keeps asking question after question on the same topic (perhaps going into more detail each time) after the first two or three suggest that he/she speaks to you at the end.

    * Practice if you can.

    * Have fun! Easier said than done, but you're there because they want you and because your essay obviously impressed them. People are there because they're interested, and will want you to do well.

    I don't know whether that helps you any, but best of luck on the night!
