    Don't pay for the sBMJ as you can get for free on line or in a public library.
    At my UCL interview we discussed this and I said something along the lines of - I read the sBMJ but not the BMJ or the Lancet as being unqualified they went over my head. The clinician said the Lancet went over her head sometimes - thus they won't believe you if you said you read and comprehended the Lancet!

    When I was asked at med school i think it woul dbe more useful to have a couple of interesting points that shows you're well rounded.

    I think reading Nature would be much much much much more helpful. Its probably on e of the best internet sites on the web.
    Or you could try new Scientist (ditto)

    Makes you look more well rounded.
