Couldn't agree more!
Maybe Mubeen and I should set up a "UCL Appreciation Society"? He'd be a natural choice for President
He could even have a vote-off with you, Philosoraptor

Well then why do theses "unofficial" interviews exist. It basically sounds as if UCL has favourites.

That doesn't answer my question about why they take place though. Why do these people receive different treatment to everyone else?

Look at it this way. It's May. UCL will know by then how many people have either declined their offer, or put them as a firm or insurance. Everyone who applied will have chosen a firm or insurance except those who have got no offers at all and will probably be forced to reapply.
The situation? UCL will have a reasonable estimate how many people will come in September (taking into account missed grades, insurances etc) and there may be a few spaces left. So they think "oh look, let's give those without any offers a chance". So they interview a few candidates they think they will likely give a place too (perhaps based on PS/BMAT)
This is total speculation but is possible.Last edited by becca230289; 21-03-2007 at 12:32 AM.
