    How many places?

Does anybody know how many interviewees get places? I've heard some numbers floating around, but the numbers quoted seem rather high.

At other medical schools I have attended interviews to I have been told that out of 750 interviewees, only 100 get places! Whereas I read on this board somewhere that 600 out of 700 interviewees get places at UCL!

If someone can confirm the numbers involved it really would put my mind at ease.
    Thanks in advance!

60-70% of those interviewed wil get an offer, which is different from a place. As people put their offers as insurance (so usually never take them up) or fail to get the required grades, the number of people actually accepted (and therefore attending) falls to close to 330.

is that not such a gamble for the medical school in case everyone who gets in decides to actually make UCL (or any other university, their number one choice) and so leaving the medical school wih a dilemma! i realise that this is unlkely though!

The medical school have over150 years of experience in matching offers and places, they don't get it too wrong very often. If they do they can always ask people to voluntarily defer entry for a year (with financial incentive.)

as I heard from open day, over 800 people apply and
they give out about 400~500 interviews.
So if you get the interview, there is 50% you get in.
May have changed but hope this helps!

I believe that it is much closer to 2000 applicants and 800 interviews.

On my interview day they said, 2500 applicants. 750 interviews. This year, 500 of them were given automatically to people who scored over 19 in the BMAT. xx
