Spencer Wells is REALLY Dr. Brenda Cross

    Fellow Forum Readers,

The time has come for me to post a new thread revealing the identity of our foremost contributor, mentor and bastion of this forum.

I am sure I am not the only reader of this forum to be persistently dumbfounded by the level of insight that this "second year medical student" provides to us about that undercover world that is medical school admissions. Recent posts have sought to not only inform us of the workings of the medical school, but have also whenever possible tried to reassure and comfort the worried forum contributor. I have asked myself on many an occasions - can this really be the behaviour of a 19 year old medical student? I conjecture that such insight into the murly workings of the medical school could not possibly be possessed by a mere medical student. Spencer has adopted this disguise to detract from his true powers - overseer to who enters that seat of medical learning that is the RUMS. I feel a grave injustice is being done to Spencer and so I feel it only right that her true identity be revealed. Ladies and gentleman I give you: Dr. Brenda Cross!

    Loud applause and much hooraying...

(The more astute readers may also realise that to make the task of hiding her true identity Dr. Cross led us to belive she was actually male).

I take my hat off to your deductive powers oh FuzzyBear. I realise now, in the light of your startling denouement, that SW has hinted at this fact before. He insisted that he was present during my tour/interview day at UCL and - clinching proof - I DID see Dr Brenda Cross that day. And further proof, though barely required, lies in the fact that 'Spencer Wells' is clearly a 'nom de plume' as it is really the name of type of surgical forceps. That information was provided by the good Dr Cross herself which I now realise was another broad hint as to her true identity.

I should like to propose a vote of thanks to her for all her modest support of the newbies on this forum.

And PS, I am rather looking forward to finding out more about the 'murly workings of the medical school' - sounds fascinating!

    Exclamation

Can someone please tell me if this is a joke or not. I am invariably the most gullible and would always be the one to take this at face value when its really meant to be a joke.

In the mean time, I am going off to check the private messages I have sent to Spencer Wells in the past in the hope that they were vaguely sensible.

p.s. if its true, this is the coolest thing I've heard and is probably the clincher for me!

i apologise for my faux paas - murly should of course have read 'murky' and i also missed out the 'e' in believe. these oversights occur particularly when there is important news to be broadcast quickly!

I am very sad to hear that as I much preferred the term 'murly', I was beginning to really look forward to September. I think that it was all starting to sound a bit Harry Potter-ish when I combined 'murly' with the shape and external appearance of the cross-shaped building (cruciate/cruciform building? can't remember its name)

Unfortunately no, I am not Dr. Cross, but that's not to say that she doesn't read this forum (alot of admissions tutors do, and yes, what you say can be traced back to the individual.)

As for how I know so much; I'm very, very clever.
