Applicants who have not yet heard anything from UCL for A100

    Hello there,

I want to know who are those applicants who have not yet heard anything from UCL medical school for the undergraduate course MBBS (A100).

It is the month of February and most of the applicants have been interviewed as well as been invited for interview. However, I have not yet heard anything from the medical school. So I would like to discuss with those people who are in the same position as I am in.

I'm in that position! Seems everyone I know has heard from UCL, apart from one or two.

The way I see it though, is no news is good news. If we haven't been rejected yet - there's every chance we're still being considered.

I also heard that they were interviewing in order of the BMAT - from highest scores to lowest. Mine were below average - 4.0, 4.2 and 7.5 - so maybe thats why? Or maybe they're just taking their time to reject me? Lol who knows??

I'm in the same boat too- heard nothing. My BMAT was alright but not enough to guarentee an interview- 4.5, 4.0 and 10.5. UCL is my top choice...and they interview till Mid March, and as I've heard nothing, I can still keep my hopes up.
Save the semicolon; for without it we are nothing but a bunch of comma grabbers.

    Re: GCSE and A-level grades

    hi crazyperson,

    Thanx for your message.

Well, your BMAT scores are pretty higher than my ones. I got 3.2, 3.8 and 6.0. If UCL is interviewing applicants by the decending order of the BMAT scores than you are going to get the call for interview well b4 me.

In the UCL website I have read that if an applicant scores below 5.5 then he/she would be judged in the traditional method by the GCSE and A-level grades. So I don't think they are choosing those applicants by the descending order of BMAT scores who have got below 5.5 or 5.0.

Anyway may I know what were your GCSE and A-level grades?

    I'd just like to reiterate:

Everyone who at leasts meets the minimum academic requirements for GCSEs and A2s will be treated equally. A straight A candidate will have no greater chance of success at being called for interview then one with lower grades. If you've met the minimum requirements, it is ALL about personal statement, reference, and BMAT, in that order. So, chill out, relax, be patient. There is still time left, and some interviews do go on even after the 26th March deadline. Good things come to those who wait (Guiness.)

    Good luck to you all.

Thanks Spencer Wells - very reassuring words! Still, its really hard not to worry when you're in that position, and time is ticking away!

    Ashique, my results were:
    GCSEs
A* - Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Latin, Geography, ICT
A - Biology, English Lit, English Lang, French

    ASs
A - Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Economics

    A2s
Predicted AAAA in same subjects as ASs.

No idea if that will help you in anyway - as Spencer Wells said, as long as we have the minimum requirements, we'll all be treated as academically equal.

    Good luck xx
