    my loan hell!

whoa, okay, so having just got back from hols I rang AIB to see about getting my loan and was told in no uncertain terms that the scheme was 'closed'. after much puffing and panting I have been told to get my ass down to Westmoreland St in the morning with all the documents (including a loan application, which I can't for the life of mE find online - anyone got a link?) and that I was holding everyone up!
Okay, fair enough, I should have emailed them while I was away maybe but I had NO IDEA there was a timeline! I was told that next year they will be cutting off the deadline on the 15th August (obviously people who get late offers will have to be self-funding?!)
So if you haven't sorted your loan do it now!

bad experience so far. can only imagine what finances post-2014 will be like. UGH.

It's bonkers. Banks should consider future doctors as good risks. Esp when they "negotiate" terms post-graduation. Unless they know something quite dreadful about our future career opportunities. Heck, they lent billions to shady property developers!

or to rephrase that, they gave billions to shady developers which they then demanded back from my and your taxes.

which we did, so that they can still provide essential services like educational loans. And then they tell someone "no sorry, we arbitrarily closed that scheme yesterday because that way it's a bit less work for us"
