    Rcsi gep 2010-2014

So, any takers of this mornings offers? Perhaps you are still in complete shock like myself?
What's next? Click on the button? Then discuss student loan with bank? Or write and post defer letter?

It's all too crazy to comprehend.

Yeah I accepted the offer... just emailed RCSI to ask for an acceptance letter electronically, because I wanted to try to sort out the loan before I go on holiday on Monday. But was told I just have to wait for whatever's in the post...

Ah you have to take the actual letter to the bank? Just a little more headache before the vacation.

Also, i presume we need to pay the deposit ourselves seeing as there's so little time. Don't know how i feel about sending a 1500 euro cheque in the post.. might be better just drop the package in by hand.

Well you press the blue button, then get a welcome letter which says money by wednesday or you're out. it also says you can't defer.

    decision time!

Button already pressed. Now just need to take care of that lovely paperwork and deposit.

Will we actually get any feedback again confirming the receipt of deposit and all the paperwork? I was told on the phone the online acceptance is the only important thing, but still.. The letter was saying otherwise.

Has anyone spoken with the bank yet?

caly, I sent my certificates and got them back in the mail today. No compliments slip or anything but I'll
    take that as a receipt!

Got in touch with the bank on Monday - very helpful guy called Wayne - and I sent some documents to him,
but I've got a feeling it might take some time before it's all sorted out.

What certs did you send/recieve astronaut? I handed mine in on monday and got nothing back.

I was just talking to them today caly. The process seems fairly simple to access the finance. The documents needed for me are:
-Certified copy of passport or full drivers licence (certified by a bank official or solicitor).
-A utility bill in your name within the last 2 months.
-Completed application form to open an AIB graduate account
    -Copy of RCSI offer letter
-Evidence of PPS number (pay slip, copy of PPS card etc.)

They are happy to let you draw from the finance as you need it, as opposed to the entire amount accumulating interest (2.9% variable by the way) from day one. The total amount is 25k/year if you need it with no payments until you graduate. After graduation they discuss a tailored payment plan with you. All in all, great package I think.
