    Really Confused

    Hi,

I have recently been rejected from Queens and feel gutted. I was sitting on 35 points. I come from N. Ireland so Belfast was my first choice. I received a letter from them advising me that if I am not holding any medicine offers in August and that I manage to get AAA then they would be prepared to reconsider my application.

I currently have an offer for medicine in Liverpool (AAB) and still waiting to hear from Cardiff.

In order for me to be reconsidered for Belfast in August I would have to turn down any medicine offers that I may have.

My problem is that if I do this there is no guarantee that I will get a place in Queens, so would be taking a massive gamble. I really want to study medicine come September and would not like to have to take a gap year.

    WHAT SHOULD I DO

If you wanna stay then reapply and, if not, go abroad. Personally I don't see the big deal with going across the water. You can always come back after 5 years.

Plus what's to say that the cut-off won't be higher next year? Did the UKCAT bring you down? Can you score more points next year?

PS Liverpool is an amazing city and you would have the best time over there. I say be brave and leave the nest!

i would say that you should go to Liverpool. Every applicant that was rejected this past week seems to have gotten that letter. Chances are the majority of them will achieve 3A's in august so it is a huge risk to take with a lot of luck required that it will happen to be your application will be the one that they reassess

Also , are there any grads out there interviewed in Dec who haven't heard back yet?? I guess we can expect to hear around the end of next week.... good luck everyone
I would imagine those who have offers are people whose applications (including interview where applicable) have scored above their estimated cut off points. The rest will be borderline people, some will get in, some wont...best of luck to u all.
